Job summary

Habit Health in Gisborne is seeking an empathetic Counsellor to join our Employee Assistance Programme team. You will deliver counselling services in-person, via video and telehealth, and provide support at worksites after events.

The ideal candidate holds APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA, a Level 7 Counselling qualification, and at least five years of post‑study experience; knowledge of SFT, CBT, FACT is desirable. You will work independently and contribute to wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA.
• Minimum five years post‑study counselling experience.
• Knowledge of evidence‑based therapy models (e.g., SFT, CBT, FACT) desirable.
• Ability to work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid.
• Experience in trauma intervention and psychological first-aid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused interventions enabling clients to utilise health coping mechanisms at work and life.
• Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption.
• Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth.
• Deliver training to customer employees.
