Job summary

The University of Otago in Dunedin invites applications for a Business Analyst to support the Our People Pathway Workday implementation. You will translate complex HR and process requirements into actionable Workday solutions, working across business, technical and vendor stakeholders.

This fixed-term, full-time role offers a structured delivery environment, strong stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to enterprise transformation improving staff HR services.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification, certification, or equivalent experience in business analysis, project delivery, HR systems or digital transformation.
• Proven experience eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements and processes, with strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A practical understanding of project delivery methods, including agile, hybrid or implementation-based environments.
• The ability to connect process, data, system and user experience considerations to support quality outcomes.
• Experience with Workday, HRIS, ERP or other enterprise system implementations would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements for Workday processes, integrations, data, reporting and user experience.
• Mapping current and future state processes and identifying gaps, risks, impacts and opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitating workshops and discovery sessions with HR, operational, technical and vendor stakeholders.
• Supporting configuration, testing, data validation, reporting and change readiness activities by providing clear analysis and traceable requirements.
• Working collaboratively across project workstreams to ensure business needs are understood, prioritised and reflected in Workday delivery outcomes.
• Maintaining alignment with Workday functionality, implementation partner guidance and the University’s programme objectives.
