Job summary

Matua, part of Treasury Wine Estates, is seeking a passionate Laboratory Technician to join our vintage team based in Marlborough. You will work with juice and wine samples, perform fermentations checks and maintain accurate auditable records.

The role requires strong attention to detail, a safety mindset, weekend and shift flexibility, and the ability to work long hours during peak periods. Previous vintage experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and intention to learn.
• Outstanding level of commitment, drive and initiative.
• Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
• Good communication, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills and able to prioritize tasks.
• Able to perform manual handling tasks and work long hours (a medical check will be part of the process).
• Safety mindset.
• 1 + Vintage experience.
• Ability to work weekends, afternoon, and night shifts, 12 hours per day 6 days per week when required during busy period.

Responsibilities

• Ferment samples run & inoculation checks.
• Analysis of juice and wine samples in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Record all relevant records to ensure a complete auditable process.
• Interpret and action reporting of tests effectively.
• Perform calibration and standardization requirements.
