Job summary

NZ Playcentre Federation is seeking a Centre Coordinator for a part-time role across Morrinsville, Huimai, and Tahuna Playcentres. The position involves 5 hours per week sessions starting 5 October 2026, with responsibilities as Person Responsible to support whānau-led sessions and governance.

You will work with centre whānau and staff to develop adult capability, provide pedagogical guidance, and ensure Playcentre philosophy and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles are reflected in sessions and

Qualifications

• Experience building adult capability and confidence within Playcentre or similar early childhood settings.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• First Aid certification.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
• Commitment to whānau-led, Playcentre philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first educators with rich, child-led curriculum.
• Role-model and support high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide guidance on curriculum, adult education and health and safety.
• Ensure sessions meet Health and Safety and regulatory requirements.
• Promote Māori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
