Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a Centre Coordinator to work 11.5 hours per week, starting 12 October 2026, on a fixed-term basis during term time.

In collaboration with centre whānau, you will build adult capability, provide pedagogical guidance, and ensure sessions reflect Playcentre Philosophy to enrich children’s learning.

You will support curriculum, health and safety, and align with Te Tiriti o Waitangi; NZ residency or valid NZ work visa is required.

Qualifications

• Centre Coordinator role requires Playcentre Diploma level 3 or equivalent ECE Qualification Level 4+.
• Experience with Te Whāriki and ECE regulations is essential.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first educators for tamariki by ensuring rich, meaningful, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting the delivery of high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Providing advice and support to centre whānau focusing on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Recognise the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how they relate to Playcentre and actively engage in promotion of Māori cultural values.
