This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who understands the importance of balancing commercial success with environmental responsibility, cultural values and long-term iwi aspirations.

As the Whakatupu & Sustainability Manager, you’ll lead and champion Whakatupu, our iwi commercial framework, alongside He Manawa aa Whenua, our sustainability strategy.

Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services and Engagement, you’ll work across TGH and alongside iwi, marae, governance representatives and external stakeholders to turn strategic aspirations into meaningful action.

  • Driving the delivery of the He Manawa aa Whenua sustainability strategy and action plan.
  • Developing meaningful performance measures, impact assessments and reporting frameworks to monitor progress.

We’re looking for a confident and experienced leader who brings together strategic thinking, strong relationship management and a genuine passion for sustainability and iwi development.

You’ll understand that commercial performance, environmental stewardship and cultural integrity can work together to create lasting benefits for our communities.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, project management, planning or a related field.
  • A good level of fluency in te reo Maaori and a sound understanding of tikanga Maaori.
  • At least 8 years of commercial ESG or sustainability experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering environmental, taiao or sustainability projects within a complex organisation.
  • Strong project management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting capabilities.
