Job summary

Kinetic Recruitment seeks an experienced Welding Inspector for a Papakura-based role with a well-established engineering company in New Zealand. The role focuses on inspecting welding and fabrication work, performing quality checks, and ensuring projects meet required standards and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of welding processes and codes, experience with pipe welding or structural steelwork, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Welding Inspector.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes and standards.
• Experience with pipe welding and/or structural steelwork.
• Experience working to ASME IX, AS/NZS 1554 and AS/NZS 2214 standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication work to required standards.
• Complete quality checks, reports and documentation.
• Review welding procedures, drawings and specifications.
• Identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are followed.

Experienced Welding Inspector looking for excellent pay and a long-term opportunity?

We're looking for an experienced Welding Inspector to join a well-established engineering company based in Papakura. With over 20 years' experience delivering specialist welding solutions across New Zealand, they work across pump stations, water and wastewater infrastructure, gas pipeline welding, structural steelwork, and certified welding services.

You'll be responsible for inspecting welding and fabrication work, completing quality checks, reviewing documentation, and ensuring projects meet required standards and specifications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge and confidence in welding compliance.
