Job summary

Stellar Recruitment in Taranaki is assisting a busy engineering workshop to fill a Welder/Fabricator role. This hands-on position involves fabrication, repair and assembly of steel components in a fast-paced workshop environment.

You'll work from drawings, cut and prepare materials, and maintain high weld quality using MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAW processes. Pipe welding is an advantage, and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Proven welder/fabricator experience in an engineering or heavy industrial environment.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.

We are seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy engineering workshop in Taranaki. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of fabrication and maintenance projects within a well-established engineering environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be involved in the fabrication, repair and assembly of a wide range of steel components and structures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fabrication and assembly of structural and mechanical components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Cutting, grinding, fitting and preparing materials
• Workshop-based fabrication and repair work
• Maintaining high-quality weld standards and workmanship
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator within an engineering or heavy industrial environment
• Strong experience with MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAWStrong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual and safety conscious
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Pipe welding experience will be an advantage
