Job summary

KiwiQuest in Christchurch is seeking a skilled MIG welder/fabricator to produce fabricated metal components. You will read plans, prepare materials and MIG weld to a high standard, with work through December and immediate start.

The role offers day hours (Mon-Fri) finishing around 3:00pm, with a temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate. NZD 30–38 per hour depending on experience and skill, based in Canterbury, Christchurch.

Qualifications

• Two years MIG welding experience or equivalent fabrication work.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
• Strong fabrication skills for metal components.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and detail oriented.

Description

This role produces fabricated metal components in Christchurch, reading plans, preparing materials and MIG welding to a high standard through December.

• Measure, cut and drill materials to specifications
• MIG weld mild steel and fabricate components
• Complete work accurately and to a high standard

Requirements

• At least two years of MIG welding experience, preferably in fabrication
• Experience with mild steel is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Reliable, practical, safety-conscious and attentive to detail
• Pass a drug test and criminal record check
• Right to work in New Zealand
• NZD 30–38 per hour depending on experience and skill
• Monday-to-Friday hours usually finishing around 3:00pm
• Immediate start
• Work lined up until December
