Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking a skilled Welder Engineer for its Bluff port operation. The role involves hands-on welding, fabrication, maintenance and repair on heavy off-road machinery, including loaders, material handlers and terminal tractors.

Based at Bluff Port, the position is full-time, Mon-Fri 7am–4pm, with overtime available. Applicants should have NZQA Level 4 in Heavy Fabrication and proven experience with heavy vehicles and port equipment.

• Ability to work independently or in a small team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Welder Engineer for our Bluff port operation. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out fabrication, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of heavy off-road machinery including loaders, material handlers, and terminal tractors.

Who we’re after:

• Relevant NZQA Level 4 trade qualification in Heavy Fabrication [or overseas equivalent]
• Proven experience working on heavy vehicles and machinery.
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the role.
