Job summary

AIS BOP Limited in Dunedin is seeking a Multi Skilled Welder to work on copper brazing, copper welding, fabrication, fitting and TIG welding of stainless steel pipework for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring workmanship meets project specs and safety.

Essential: minimum 3 years' welding experience; strong copper brazing and copper welding; ability to read drawings; knowledge of safety requirements. Desirable: Med Gas installations and a current NZ driver’s license.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform copper brazing, copper welding, brazing, soldering, and TIG welding on copper and stainless steel components per specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding procedures, and fabrication plans.
• Prepare, cut, fit and assemble copper pipes and fittings for brazing, welding and installation.
• Carry out TIG welding and other approved welding processes to industry standards.
• Inspect materials and welds for quality and compliance and repair piping systems as required.

About the Role

AIS BOP Limited is seeking a Multi Skilled Welder to join our team in Dunedin. You will be responsible for copper brazing, fabricating, fitting and TIG welding stainless steel pipework for commercial and industrial projects while ensuring all work meets quality standards, project specifications, and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality copper brazing, copper welding, brazing, and soldering , and TIG welding on copper and stainless steel components in accordance with project specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding procedures, and fabrication plans.
• Prepare, cut, fit, and assemble copper pipes, fittings, and components for brazing, welding and installation.
• Carry out TIG welding and other approved welding processes to industry standards.
• Inspect materials and completed welds to ensure quality and compliance.
• Repair, modify, and maintain piping systems as required.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Identify welding defects and carry out corrective actions where necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
• Work closely with supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.
• Comply with all health, safety, and company policies at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Minimum of 3 years' relevant welding experience with verifiable employment records.
• Strong hands on experince in copper brazing and copper welding is essential.
• Experience with Medical Gas (Med Gas) installations and pipework is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
• Knowledge of relevant welding standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.

Preferred(not essential):

• Strong hands-on experience in copper welding and copper brazing is essential.
• Current first aid certificate Full NZ driver's license.
