Job summary

Sudima Christchurch City is seeking a friendly Night Porter to join our hotel team. The role is part-time (minimum 10 hours per week) with an hourly rate of $27.25.

A full NZ driver’s license is required, and you must be able to work weekends and evenings—perfect for a student seeking hotel experience. Based at Sudima Christchurch City, you will support the night team, assist with valet and luggage, handle guest requests, and help maintain security and cleanliness while delivering warm,

Responsibilities

• Providing a warm and welcoming environment within our hotel where everyone feels at home.
• Assisting with valet parking and luggage.
• Supporting the Night Manager with guest requests/tasks and overnight checks.
• Resolve guest issues promptly with excellent communication.
• Hotel security floor checks.
• Providing local information on Christchurch and surrounding area.
• Help guests with booking activities, restaurants and travel options.
• Maintain a clean and tidy environment in all areas.
• Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs or batteries.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.

About The Role

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Night Porter to join our fun, dynamic Hotel team.

We are looking for enthusiastic applicants who know how to impress our guests, ensuring a warm, friendly and efficient welcome at every interaction with a hotel guest or visitor. Team players who will provide the highest levels of customer service while ensuring professionalism and efficiencies every time a guest enters the hotel.

This part-time permanent role (minimum 10 hours per week) is based at Sudima Christchurch City and the hourly rate is $27.25 per hour.

Full driver's license is required, You must be able to work weekends and evenings. This is mainly a weekend role and would suit a student.

• Maintaining a clean and tidy environment in all common areas, both inside and outside the hotel
• Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs, remote control batteries
• Comply with health and safety regulations and follow emergency evacuation procedures
