Job summary

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Supervisor to join our boarding team. This weekend role provides daytime pastoral care for about 130 girls in Years 9–13, with Saturday and Sunday shifts.

You will support wellbeing, build positive relationships, assist with prep sessions and supervise activities, while keeping records and logs to ensure a smooth boarding environment. A warm, reliable, organised approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to support young people in care or education.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to maintain routines and manage basic admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily pastoral care and wellbeing support for boarding students.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment within the boarding house.
• Support students during prep (homework) sessions and encourage positive study habits.
• Plan and supervise on-site and off-site activities for boarders.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to student concerns or behavioural issues.
• Complete administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication logs.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with the boarding team regarding student needs.
• Provide daytime supervision and support to ensure a positive boarding environment.
