Christchurch Girls' High School Te Kura 0 Hine Waiora seeks a positive Pastoral Night Supervisor to support ākonga overnight at Acland House. You will provide exceptional pastoral care, maintaining a calm, safe environment and assisting with administration, housekeeping and boarding house operations.

The role involves 5 nights per week on an overnight awake roster (10.15pm–6.45am), term time only, with 130 boarders in care. Eligibility to work in NZ and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people in educational, residential or care settings.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current Full Driver's Licence - passenger endorsement essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight pastoral care to up to 130 boarders at Acland House.
• Administer housekeeping and domestic duties related to the boarding house.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised environment during overnight shifts.

Christchurch Girls' High School Te Kura 0 Hine Waiora was founded in 1877 and was the second state girls' secondary school in Aotearoa New Zealand, with a proud and long history of educating young women to take their place in the world.

Our boarding hostel, Acland House, provides accommodation for up to 130 boarders, between Years 9-13, from outside Christchurch. It is situated on Papanui Road, a five-minute drive from the school campus and ākonga have the opportunity for educational, cultural, sporting and social development at the school and the hostel.

We are looking for a positive, committed Pastoral Night Supervisor to support ākonga overnight at Acland House. Working with the Director of Boarding, you will be part of a dynamic team that maintains this "home away from home".

You will provide exceptional pastoral care to the girls, ensuring a well-organised and safe environment at all times. The role also includes administration support, housekeeping and domestic services associated with the running of the boarding house.

This is an overnight awake position (Rostered Overnight Awake Shifts) typically from 10.15pm to 6:45am. This role is to cover 5 nights of the week and could be split between 2 people (3 nights / 2 nights). It is a term time only role and excludes set leave weekends.

Qualifications And Experience Preferred

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational, residential or care setting is preferred
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Full Driver's Licence - passenger endorsement essential
