Job summary

Hind Management is seeking a Food and Beverage Attendant to join the team at Sudima Kaikōura’s new waterfront restaurant, Hiku. This full-time role offers a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week and a pay rate of $24 per hour.

Training will be provided, with fixed-term and permanent positions available for the upcoming busy summer season. Ideal candidates bring hospitality passion and customer-facing experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
• NZ work rights in New Zealand is required.
• Ability to work outside normal hours (early mornings, late finishes, weekends, public holidays).
• Experience in restaurant & bar service or customer-facing roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, engaging welcome to all guests.
• Work as a team to ensure exceptional service and dining experiences.
• Prepare the restaurant for service by setting and arranging tables.
• Seat guests, present menus and beverage lists, take orders and deliver service.
• Open bottles, pour beverages and serve food.
• Clear tables and return dishes and cutlery to the kitchen.
• Refill and replace glasses as needed.
• Answer external and internal phone inquiries and deliver room service.
• Settle guest accounts and operate POS/cash registers.
• Ensure a positive resolution and timely follow-up on guest complaints.
