Veolia Australia and New Zealand seeks a practical Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Operator to join the operations team in Wanaka. You will maintain and operate water and wastewater networks to ensure safe drinking water and effective wastewater collection across the region.

You will report to the Operations Supervisor and work with a collaborative infrastructure team on planned, routine, and reactive maintenance. A current driver licence and relevant plant licences are advantageous.

Qualificações

• Combination of relevant education, training and industry experience.
• Experience with water mains 25–550 mm.
• Wastewater infrastructure experience 100–550 mm.
• Exposure to water, wastewater or civil construction industries.
• Basic understanding of civil construction and heavy equipment.
• Experience operating excavators or similar plant.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships.
• Physical fitness to work outdoors and undertake hands-on duties.
• Current driver licence and relevant plant or equipment licences would be advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Maintaining water and wastewater reticulation infrastructure and associated network assets.
• Completing planned, routine and breakdown maintenance.
• Identifying, investigating and escalating faults and operational issues promptly.
• Carrying out repairs and fault-finding on network assets and infrastructure.
• Operating excavators, small trucks and other plant and equipment as required.
• Working effectively with internal teams, contractors and temporary labour.
• Participating in the on-call duty operator roster.
• Following all health, safety, environmental, quality and operational procedures.
• Completing required regulatory and role-specific training.
• Supporting the delivery of reliable, compliant and high-quality water and wastewater services.
