Job summary

Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand seeks a Project Management Commercial Lead to enable Project Managers to deliver commercially sound water projects. You’ll govern forecasts, risk and performance and drive profitability while collaborating with business leaders and multi-disciplinary teams.

The role focuses on enhancing project delivery, governance and commercial discipline across drinking water, wastewater and related assets in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project performance across scope, budget, schedule, risk, quality, WIP and financial metrics, identify issues and drive timely resolution.
• Drive consistent application of Stantec’s Project Management Framework, processes, controls and procedures, identifying opportunities to improve execution and commercial performance.
• Review and approve project forecasts, EACs, revenue recognition, project plans, budgets and schedules with governance and controls.
• Support risk reviews, audits and distressed projects, coordinating corrective actions and guidance on high-risk projects.
• Partner with Business Leaders on pricing strategies, forecasting, budgeting, go/no-go decisions, commercial risk and performance.
• Support bids by reviewing scope, deliverables, risk, requirements and pricing, ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Project Managers and Project Controls teams including resource allocation and performance feedback.
• Lead PM forums, training and knowledge-sharing to promote best practices and tools.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal and other functions to resolve issues and enable delivery.
• Support client relationships and cross-business collaboration while keeping client service focus.
