Job summary

Napier City Council is seeking a Pumpstation Technician to join the Water Operations team in Napier. You will operate, monitor and maintain wastewater and stormwater pump stations, perform inspections, troubleshoot faults and coordinate repairs.

The role involves data collection, record-keeping, coordinating contractors, and upholding safety standards. A National Certificate in Wastewater Treatment (Level 4) and Class 1 driver’s licence are desirable; experience in SCADA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Operational experience in process plants or water industry preferred.
• Maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and climb or lift where required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain Napier's wastewater and stormwater pump stations.
• Carry out inspections, troubleshoot faults, and coordinate repairs.
• Collect, analyse and record data, maintain maintenance records.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure safety inductions and permits.
