Job summary

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Treatment Team Leader to join the Wanaka operation, supporting the wastewater facility as part of Project Pure. This hands-on leadership role coordinates people, plant and resources to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with consent requirements.

You’ll work with the Wastewater Supervisor and Operations Manager to manage the treatment process end-to-end, delivering high-quality effluent and service to the community.

Qualifications

• Approximately five years’ supervisory experience in wastewater treatment.
• A wastewater treatment qualification, or a combination of relevant education, training and experience.
• Hands-on experience in three waters treatment, preferably with exposure to wastewater or process industry operations.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies, processes and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the on-site treatment team, providing coaching, guidance and development.
• Coordinate resources, rosters and work activities across the facility.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and on time.
• Monitor treatment processes and ensure compliance with discharge quality standards and resource consents.
• Identify, resolve and escalate operational, maintenance and process issues.
• Assist with reporting, management duties and performance monitoring.
• Organise and order consumables, materials and spare parts.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and clients.
• Support Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management systems.
• Promote best-practice wastewater treatment and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a positive, professional and high-performing team culture.
