Job summary
Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Supervisor - Sludge Minimisation Facility to lead operations at New Zealand’s first Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) facility at Moa Point, Wellington. You’ll oversee a team of 5 and drive operational excellence, transferring global best practices to local teams.
The role requires a degree in Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years in wastewater treatment, and strong leadership with SCADA experience.
Qualifications
- Engineer degree or technical certifications in wastewater treatment or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in wastewater treatment operations (preferably with Veolia)
- Experience in complex processing plants with gas, steam and heat integration
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Proficiency in SCADA and control systems
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the SMF operational team, fostering a proactive safety culture
- Ensure optimal performance of all SMF processes, including the THP
- Collaborate with the Moa Point WWTP team to ensure integrated plant performance
- Implement process improvements and operational optimisations
- Manage safety initiatives, compliance, and emergency preparedness
- Transfer specialised technical knowledge and develop local capability
- Monitor performance metrics and maintain accurate operational records
- Deputise for the Wastewater Treatment Manager as required
