Job summary

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Treatment Team Leader to join our Wanaka team, supporting the wastewater facility within Project Pure. This hands-on leadership role coordinates people, plant and resources to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with resource consent requirements.

Qualifications

• Approximately five years’ supervisory experience in wastewater treatment.
• Wastewater treatment qualification or equivalent education/experience.
• Hands-on experience in three waters treatment, preferably wastewater or process industry operations.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies, processes and compliance requirements.
• Ability to fault-find mechanical equipment and solve operational problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the on-site treatment team, providing coaching and development.
• Coordinate resources, rosters and activities across the facility.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and on time.
• Monitor treatment processes and ensure discharge quality and consent compliance.
• Identify, resolve and elevate operational, maintenance and process issues.
• Assist with reporting, management duties and performance monitoring.
• Organise and order consumables, materials and spare parts.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and clients.
• Support Health and Safety, QA and Environmental Management systems.
• Promote best-practice wastewater treatment and continuous improvement.
