Job summary

Veolia Australia and New Zealand is seeking a Wastewater Pump Station Technician to join the Queenstown team. The role focuses on operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater pump stations and related equipment to ensure compliant and efficient plant performance.

You will monitor pumps and controls, perform routine inspections, collect data, and support upgrades while following safety protocols and coordinating with subcontractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical trades.
• Experience in water/process industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on wastewater pump stations and related equipment.
• Respond to pump station alarms and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Operate pump stations via manual controls or SCADA and monitor flow levels.
• Record operational data such as pump hours and electrical readings.
• Carry out basic electrical and mechanical repairs and replace worn parts.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities and operational data.
• Assist with installation of new pump equipment and site upgrades.
• Support subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe and compliant work.
• Adhere to safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE.
