Job summary

Veolia in Queenstown is seeking a Wastewater Pump Station Technician to operate, maintain and repair pump stations and related equipment within the plant and network. The role requires ensuring compliant operation, data logging, and coordinating with subcontractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent required.
• Experience in water/wastewater or process industry preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on wastewater pump stations and related equipment.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot pump station issues.
• Operate pump stations via manual controls or computerised systems and monitor flow levels.
• Record operational data and maintain logs of maintenance activities.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and supervise/coordinate subcontractors as needed.
• Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE.
