Job summary

Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Wastewater Pump Station Technician in Queenstown. You will operate, maintain and repair pump stations to ensure compliant wastewater collection and transfer to treatment facilities.

The role offers time and a half after 8 hours daily and after 40 hours weekly, on-call allowances and meal allowances, along with opportunities for growth and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in the water/process industry is preferable.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on wastewater pump stations and related equipment.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot pump station issues.
• Operate pump stations manually or via control systems and adjust flow as needed.
• Record operational data and maintain logs of activities.
• Assist with installation of new or replacement pump station equipment.
• Conduct grounds maintenance around pump sites and uphold safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to meet safety, quality and budget targets.
