Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a reliable and motivated operator to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of an industrial distillation unit, boiler and oil filter baler in Tauranga. You will join a supportive team with ongoing training and PPE provided, and work on shift-based schedules with opportunities to develop your skills.

This permanent, full-time role offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in waste management and environmental stewardship while contributing to daily operations

Qualifications

• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn (training provided).
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts Monday to Friday; varied shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment and processing systems safely and efficiently.
• Receive, inspect and process waste oils, sludges, oily water and other approved waste streams.
• Complete start-up, shutdown, checks and routine maintenance.
• Monitor plant performance, tank levels and product quality.
• Conduct sampling, inspections and stock reconciliations.
• Maintain operational records and compliance documentation.
• Safe loading/unloading of waste and recovered products.
• Maintain housekeeping and environmental compliance.
