Job summary

Service Foods in Wellington is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to manage day-to-day warehouse operations and lead a team servicing national customers. Immediate start with Monday–Friday hours and some Saturdays.

You’ll oversee performance, drive safety, and ensure accuracy of orders in a fast-paced distribution environment. The role requires Supervisory experience, a Class 2 licence (preferred), forklift qualification, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or Team Leader experience.
• Class 2 driver’s licence preferred.
• Forklift licence and practical experience.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and communicate with diverse teams.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to H&S practices.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of basic food ingredients.
• Proven track record in improving operational efficiency.
• Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing day-to-day warehouse operations.
• Oversee staff performance and address issues where required.
• Pick, pack, check, and wrap national customer orders.
• Provide relief driving support when needed (Class 2 preferred).
• Support Inwards Goods, receipting, credits, and stock corrections.
• Provide operational cover for the Team Supervisor during leave.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality and food safety.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
• Support roster planning and task allocation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
• Conduct training to upskill team members.
