Job summary

Synlait in Dunsandel, Canterbury, is seeking Warehouse Operators to join our busy site. No prior experience required; you’ll learn on the job and work with an experienced team to understand how warehouse and logistics support production and distribution.

This role follows a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster (2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off). You’ll move materials, stock goods for dispatch and contribute to continuous improvement in a safe, organized warehouse.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, forklift or manufacturing experience is a bonus, but not essential.
• Reliability, motivation and a willingness to learn are important.
• Able to work as part of a team and follow processes.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating forklifts to move raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
• Supplying production lines with the right materials at the right time.
• Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods in line with quality processes.
• Picking, staging and preparing finished product for dispatch.
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers safely and accurately.
• Maintaining accurate stock movement records and supporting improvements.

We’re looking for Warehouse Operators to join our busy Dunsandel site. You don’t need years of experience, we’re looking for people with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll work alongside an experienced team and learn how warehouse and logistics operations help keep our manufacturing and distribution running smoothly.

Don’t have a forklift licence? That’s okay, training will be provided with opportunities to build your skills and progress your career at Synlait

This is a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster – 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off – giving you plenty of time outside of work.

What you’ll do

You’ll be involved in a wide range of warehouse and logistics activities that keep production and distribution moving efficiently, including:

• Safely operating forklifts to move raw materials, packaging and finished goods
• Supplying production lines with the right materials at the right time to keep operations flowing
• Receiving, checking, and storing incoming goods in line with quality and inventory processes
• Picking, staging, and preparing finished product for dispatch
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers safely and accurately
• Collecting and delivering product and quality samples across site as required
• Operating semi-automatic pallet wrapping equipment to prepare stock for storage or shipment
• Completing basic inventory checks and maintaining accurate stock movement records
• Supporting continuous improvement by identifying and escalating issues or inefficiencies
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times
