Job summary

Synlait Milk Limited in Dunsandel, Canterbury is hiring Warehouse Operators to support busy production and distribution. No prior experience required; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are valued as you work alongside an experienced team to move materials, stock and finished goods safely.

You will receive training, an on-site roster of 4 on/4 off (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off), and opportunities for career growth.

We’re looking for Warehouse Operators to join our busy Dunsandel site. You don’t need years of experience, we’re looking for people with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll work alongside an experienced team and learn how warehouse and logistics operations help keep our manufacturing and distribution running smoothly.

Don’t have a forklift licence? That’s okay, training will be provided with opportunities to build your skills and progress your career at Synlait

This is a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster – 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off – giving you plenty of time outside of work.

What you’ll do

You’ll be involved in a wide range of warehouse and logistics activities that keep production and distribution moving efficiently, including:

• Safely operating forklifts to move raw materials, packaging and finished goods
• Supplying production lines with the right materials at the right time to keep operations flowing
• Receiving, checking, and storing incoming goods in line with quality and inventory processes
• Picking, staging, and preparing finished product for dispatch
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers safely and accurately
• Collecting and delivering product and quality samples across site as required
• Operating semi-automatic pallet wrapping equipment to prepare stock for storage or shipment
• Completing basic inventory checks and maintaining accurate stock movement records
• Supporting continuous improvement by identifying and escalating issues or inefficiencies
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times

What you’ll bring

Previous warehouse, forklift or manufacturing experience is a bonus, but not essential. You’ll be someone who:

• Is reliable, motivated and keen to learn
• Enjoys working as part of a team
• Communicates well and is comfortable asking questions
• Takes pride in doing a job well
• Pays attention to detail and follows processes
• Is practical and enjoys being hands‑on
• Is happy working a rotating day and night roster
