Job summary

Mayceys Confectionery Ltd in Auckland is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Assistant to join our busy team. You will receive, store, rotate and dispatch ingredients, packaging, consumables and finished goods, keeping stock accurate and production supplied on time to support our baking lines.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will work closely with Production, Office and Sales, travel between sites if required, and help merchandising and customer orders using company vehicles where

Qualifications

• NZ driver's license is essential.
• Experience in warehouse, stores or dispatch, preferably in food/FMCG.
• Knowledge of stock control, rotation and stocktaking.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Good communication and a team-focused attitude.
• Knowledge of food safety, traceability and allergen controls is an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual handling.
• Health and safety conscious with proactive hazard identification.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and put away incoming ingredients, materials, consumables and finished goods daily.
• Maintain an organised packing space, with stock in its correct location and proper stock rotation at all times.
• Ensure all palletised product is put away in its racking location by the end of each day.
• Record and maintain traceability for all perishable ingredients.
• Reconcile manifests daily and provide inwards and outwards documentation on time.
• Complete cycle counts and monthly stocktakes on time, and assist with product and ingredient reconciliations.
• Maintain and order consumables, and report all out-of-stocks promptly.
• Work with transport contractors to ensure smooth load-in and load-out.
• Support the Grocery Sales Representative with merchandising and taking customer orders.
• Comply with the Food Safety Plan, allergen controls and SOPs.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on, dependable Warehouse Assistant to join our warehouse team, with an immediate start. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will receive, store, rotate and dispatch ingredients, packaging, consumables and finished goods, keeping stock accurate and production supplied in full and on time. You will work closely with our Production, Office and Sales teams, and will also support our Grocery Sales Representative with merchandising and customer orders using a company car as required. New Lynn will be your primary location, and may need to travel to East Tamaki Factory occasionally.

Key responsibilities

Receive, check and put away incoming ingredients, materials, consumables and finished goods daily.

Maintain an organised packing space, with stock in its correct location and proper stock rotation at all times.

Ensure all palletised product is put away in its racking location by the end of each day.

Record and maintain traceability for all perishable ingredients.

Reconcile manifests daily (including CHEP and Pallecon variances) and provide inwards and outwards documentation on time.

Complete cycle counts and monthly stocktakes on time, and assist with product and ingredient reconciliations.

Maintain and order consumables, and report all out-of-stocks promptly.

Work with transport contractors to ensure smooth load-in and load-out.

Support the Grocery Sales Representative with merchandising and taking customer orders as required.

Comply with the Food Safety Plan, allergen controls, hygiene standards and Standard Operating Procedures.

About you

Full New Zealand driver license (essential).

Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or dispatch role, preferably in food or FMCG.

Sound knowledge of stock control, stock rotation and stocktaking.

High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

Knowledge of food safety, traceability and allergen controls is an advantage.

Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.

Health and Safety conscious with a proactive approach to hazard identification.
