Job summary

Forte Recruitment's client in Canterbury, New Zealand is hiring a Warehouse Assistant to oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing and dispatching goods while maintaining a safe, tidy environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid NZ driver's licence.
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential.

• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect and store incoming stock.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
• Load completed orders onto delivery vehicles.
• Assist with stock control including stock takes and cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and wear PPE.
• Operate warehouse equipment if licensed.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of our warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored and dispatched accurately, while maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect and store incoming stock, checking deliveries against paperwork and reporting any discrepancies or damage.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately for dispatch, including labelling and wrapping goods securely.
• Load completed orders onto delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with stock control, including stock takes, cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (where licensed).
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised warehouse, following all health and safety procedures and wearing the required PPE.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A Full Driver's Licence
• A forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Be physically fit and able to lift heavy items and carry out manual work.
• Basic computer skills and is confident learning new warehouse systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Great communication skills and enjoy being part of a team
