Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Visitor Experience Team Member - Summer Roles

Join our wildlife conservation whānau in the heart of Queenstown

Kiwi Park is a family-owned, five-acre wildlife sanctuary in central Queenstown. We care for more than 20 species of native New Zealand birds and reptiles and are involved in nationally managed conservation programmes.

Conservation is at the heart of Kiwi Park, and every person who visits us helps support this work.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to join our Visitor Experience team over summer. This is a varied, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, working as part of a close‑knit team and being surrounded by native wildlife.

About the role

As one of the first people our visitors meet, you will play an important part in making them feel welcome and helping them enjoy their time at Kiwi Park.

No two days are quite the same. You could be welcoming visitors and taking bookings, helping in our gift shop, making barista coffee, or spending part of your shift assisting visitors out in the Park.

You will also host native New Zealand honey tastings and give short, interesting talks beside our transparent beehive, sharing the story of honeybees, honey production and their importance to our environment.

On some shifts, you will work as a custodian at our Kiwi Encounter or other visitor areas. You will welcome visitors, manage visitor flow, answer general questions and help everyone enjoy the experience while respecting the wildlife around them.

It is a great opportunity to work in a family‑owned conservation park, enjoy time outdoors among native wildlife and help people from around the world make the most of their visit.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming visitors and helping with admissions, bookings and general enquiries
  • Assisting visitors around the Park, including at the Kiwi Encounter and other visitor areas
  • Hosting native New Zealand honey tastings and short talks beside our transparent beehive
  • Preparing barista coffee and helping with indoor and outdoor café service
  • Promoting and selling Kiwi Park experiences and gift shop products
  • Responding to phone and email enquiries
  • Restocking retail displays and helping with regular stocktakes
  • Pitching in wherever needed during busy periods
About you

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience in customer service, tourism, hospitality or sales
  • A friendly, confident and welcoming manner
  • Clear communication skills and confidence speaking with visitors
  • The ability to stay calm and helpful when things get busy
  • A reliable, punctual and willing approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An interest in native wildlife, conservation and helping people have a great day
  • Availability to work weekends, public holidays and during busy summer periods
What you’ll enjoy
  • Competitive pay that recognises your experience and contribution
  • Daytime hours, with no late-night shifts
  • A balanced roster that leaves time to enjoy Queenstown
  • A unique workplace, with opportunities to spend time throughout the Park and around native wildlife
  • Training and development, with the possibility of continuing beyond the summer season
  • Staff benefits, including a generous gift shop discount, free entry for friends and family, barista coffee and opportunities to join local tourism famils
  • A friendly team that cares about the Park, our visitors and each other
  • The Queenstown lifestyle, with nature and adventure right on your doorstep

We have full‑time and part‑time positions available. Please let us know your preferred option and general availability in your cover letter.

Applications will close once the positions have been filled.
