Job summary

Environment Southland invites you to join our Regional Programmes Team in Invercargill as a Programme Manager. You will lead the delivery and transition of the Learning from the Land programme and other complex land initiatives, guiding projects from concept to implementation.

You should have 5+ years in programme or project management, a relevant tertiary qualification, and strong stakeholder engagement skills, including mana whenua collaboration and governance reporting.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in programme or project management, planning, property, environmental management, business or equivalent.
• Experience delivering complex programmes across multiple workstreams.
• Strong analytical, options-assessment and decision-support skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience presenting to senior leaders.
• Experience with mana whenua and Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities.
• Driver's licence required.
• Understanding of property, leases or rural land management desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage Environment Southland's strategic property portfolio with lease, land-use, flood risk, asset maintenance and investment decisions.
• Coordinate forward investment decisions with internal staff and leaseholders using Learning from the Land framework.
• Lead the Learning from the Land programme, including the Titiroa pilot.
• Coordinate input across property, land management, freshwater farm plans, policy, finance, legal and operations.
• Engage mana whenua and partners; maintain momentum across concurrent workstreams.
• Prepare decision material and governance reporting; manage risks and dependencies.
