Job summary

Keith Andrews Trucks in Palmerston North is looking for a skilled Light Vehicle Auto Technician to join our busy workshop. You will diagnose, repair, and service light commercial vehicles, keep accurate records and liaise with customers.

We seek 3+ years of automotive experience, a Class 2 licence (Class 5 support welcome), and a strong commitment to quality and safety. Overtime and manufacturer training are available as part of our team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in automotive or a relevant trade qualification.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and mechanical skills.
• Class 2 licence preferred (Class 5 support available).
• NZ citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain light commercial vehicles.
• Perform routine servicing to manufacturer standards.
• Liaise with customers for approvals and updates.
• Document all work accurately.
• Maintain safety and workshop cleanliness.

What You’ll Be Doing

Diagnose, repair and maintain a range of light commercial vehicles e.g. van, utes & small trucks

Perform routine servicing to manufacturer standards

Liaise with the service team and customers for approvals and updates

Accurately document all work carried out

Stay up to date with the latest vehicle technology and repair methods

Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and workshop compliance

What You’ll Bring

3+ years’ experience in automotive or a relevant trade qualification

Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and mechanical skills

A great attitude and the ability to work under pressure

Class 2 licence ideally (Class 5 support available)

Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
