Job summary

OFC is seeking a creative, commercially minded Marketing Specialist to grow football’s profile across Oceania. You will develop and deliver marketing and digital strategies, manage campaigns, and strengthen OFC’s brand across the region, working with member associations, media partners and suppliers.

The role combines marketing strategy, digital and social media, content, event branding and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to collaborate across the Pacific and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Marketing Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong traditional and digital marketing knowledge and experience.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Job description

Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is the governing body for football across Oceania, representing national football associations throughout the Pacific region. Through football, OFC is committed to creating positive impact, supporting the growth of the game, and enhancing opportunities for
players, communities and stakeholders across Oceania.

We are looking for a creative, commercially minded and digitally focused Marketing Specialist to join our Commercial & Communications team and help grow the profile of football across the Oceania region.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Communications, the Marketing Specialist will play an important role in developing and delivering OFC’s overall marketing and digital strategy across its competitions, products and services.

You will be responsible for developing engaging marketing campaigns, strengthening OFC’s brand and digital presence, managing social media activity and supporting the promotion of OFC competitions and initiatives across the region.

This is a hands-on role that combines marketing strategy, digital and social media, content, campaign management, event branding and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with teams across OFC, Member Associations, media and marketing personnel, broadcast partners and external suppliers to deliver impactful campaigns and experiences.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to marketing and digital initiatives across the Pacific and work closely with Member Associations to strengthen their marketing and digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute integrated traditional and digital marketing strategies and campaigns aligned with OFC’s overall strategy.
  • Manage and grow OFC’s social media presence and develop engaging content schedules across digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain OFC’s brand guidelines and ensure brand consistency across campaigns, competitions and communications.
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns to promote OFC competitions, products, services and initiatives.
  • Lead and oversee tournament branding and on-the-ground marketing activities, including signage and branding plans.
  • Work with event agencies, media partners, broadcast partners and external suppliers to deliver marketing initiatives.
  • Develop marketing operational plans for tournaments and day-to-day activities.
  • Support the promotion of matches and competitions through digital, social media and website channels.
  • Work with Member Associations to develop and strengthen their marketing, digital and social media strategies.
  • Monitor, measure and report on campaign performance against KPIs and ROI.
  • Identify trends, insights and emerging digital opportunities to improve campaign performance and audience engagement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the football community.
  • Keep up to date with emerging digital platforms, technologies, marketing trends and best practice.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives that increase engagement with OFC competitions and strengthen the OFC brand across Oceania.
About You

We are looking for someone who is creative, proactive and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing. You will be confident managing multiple projects and priorities, comfortable working independently, and able to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the Pacific and internationally.

You will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Marketing Specialist or similar marketing role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience across traditional and digital marketing.
  • Experience developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong social media management and content planning experience.
  • Experience using social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite or similar.
  • Experience with content management and digital marketing channels.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to measure campaign performance and use insights to improve results.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Audacity or similar media editing software would be advantageous.
  • Some knowledge of web design; additional qualifications or experience in web design or animation would be an advantage.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, solutions-focused and adaptable approach.
  • A passion for football, sport and community engagement.
  • The ability to work respectfully and effectively across different cultures.

A degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
