Job summary

JobSpace in Auckland is seeking permanent, full-time Truck Drivers (Class 4 and 5) to join our busy team. You will be responsible for safe driving, loading and unloading, and timely deliveries within the Auckland area.

Applicants must hold a Heavy Vehicle NZ Class 4 or 5 license and have at least 2 years of relevant experience, with the ability to operate a Road Ranger gearbox. Typical hours are 30–40 per week, with potential weekend/evening shifts. Safety and compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Heavy Vehicle License NZ Class 4 or 5 (or overseas equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant driving experience.
• Understanding of hot mix and road construction materials.
• Ability to operate a Road Ranger gearbox.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and moving items.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your vehicle and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with loading and unloading items safely to prevent damage.
• Follow routes, schedules, and maintain safe driving records.
• Review job sheets to ensure orders are complete.
• Notify management of obstructions to deliveries and accidents.
• Keep vehicle clean and prepare delivery reports.

Our company is looking for permanent, full-time, Truck Drivers (Class 4 and 5) to join our busy team in Auckland.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for your vehicle and notifying the company of any service or other maintenance that may be required.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles safely to avoid any kind of damages.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Reviewing job sheets before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
• Informing management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.
• Keeping your vehicle clean and tidy.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Notifying the company of any accidents or damage to the vehicle immediately and complete the appropriate paperwork within 24 hours.
• Maintain a current driver’s license applicable for the vehicle you drive.

Requirements:

• Heavy Vehicle License (NZ Class 4 or 5, or Overseas Equivalent)
• At least 2 years' relevant experience
• Good understanding of dealing with “hot mix”.
• Ability to operate a “Road Ranger” gearbox.
• Good understanding of related health and safety requirements
• Physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting and moving heavy items.

Pay rate:

$30 to $32 per hour (depending on experience).

Hours:

As this is a full-time position, you will be guaranteed a minimum 30 hours per week but will likely be required to work approximately 40 hours per week. Hours will be rostered and may involve working on weekends and evenings.
