Job summary

Bidfood, NZ’s foodservice leader, is seeking a reliable Truck Driver + Despatch Supervisor for a Saturday split role in the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty. Deliveries Tue–Fri, dispatch duties Saturday, and provide weekend coverage for the warehouse.

This full-time role offers competitive wages and overtime, with full uniform and PPE provided. You’ll need a Class 2 or 4 licence, a clean driving history, good English, and the ability to pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Class 2 or 4 Licence with a clean driving history.
• Proven reliability and punctuality.
• Previous foodservice delivery experience preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks including drug and alcohol screening.
• NZ work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Delivering foodservice orders across the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty.
• Dispatch duties, including signing drivers back in, checking paperwork, and supporting the warehouse team.
• Provide dispatch and Duty Manager support as required, including oversight of transport operations, driver sign-in procedures, and weekend coverage.

About the Role

This is a split-role position:

• Tuesday to Friday (5:30am – 1:00pm): Delivering foodservice orders across the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty. You’ll be the face of Bidfood to our customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Saturday (9:00am – 5:30pm): Dispatch duties, including signing drivers back in, checking paperwork, and supporting the warehouse team.
• Provide dispatch and Duty Manager support as required, including oversight of transport operations, driver sign-in procedures, and maintaining operational continuity during weekends, leave, and sickness cover.

What You’ll Need

• Class 2 or 4 Licence with a clean driving history
• Proven reliability and punctuality
• Previous foodservice delivery experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty regions
• Excellent communication skills and a good grasp of written/spoken English
• High level of physical fitness
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks including drug and alcohol screening
• NZ work eligibility
• Have experience using computers, Microsoft suite and be able to learn warehouse management software
