Job summary

Foodstuffs NZ is hiring a part-time Trolley Assistant for Tamatea PAK’nSAVE in Hawke’s Bay. The 16-hour roster includes Monday, Friday and weekend shifts, with duties around trolley collection and store-side customer assistance. The role involves closing tasks for trolleys and working evenings in a busy retail environment.

You will be the first and last staff member customers see, so friendliness and reliability are essential as you help keep trolleys available and the store area tidy.

Qualifications

• Be physically able to push heavy trolleys for several hours per day, and in all weather conditions
• Have a high level of fitness and reliability
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and have rights to work in New Zealand

Responsibilities

• Collecting trolleys and ensuring trolley bays are stocked
• Keep trolleys clean and free from rubbish
• Assist customers to their vehicles with groceries when required
• Complete daily fuel site checks and keep the surroundings tidy
• Interact positively with customers at all times

We currently have a part time positions for a Trolley Assistant to join our team at PAK'nSAVE Tamatea.

Please note that the intended start date for this position is early December.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position involves working in and around a large PAK’nSAVE Store. You will be the first and last staff member a customer sees when they arrive and leave the store, so it is really important that you are friendly, approachable and helpful. If being active is important to you, this could be an ideal role as it involves collecting trolleys from our large carpark and returning them to the front of the store so there are always plenty of trolleys available for our customers. You will cover a lot of ground every shift!

We have one part-time role available on the following roster:

Trolley Asistant: 16 hours

Monday: 3:30pm - 9:15pm

Friday: 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Saturday: 2:00pm - 9:15pm

This role looks after the closing of our trolleys on these evenings which involves working on your own locking up the trolleys and working to our store closing processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Collecting trolleys and ensuring the trolley bays are stocked at all times.
• Keeping trolleys clean and free from rubbish.
• Helping customers to their vehicles with their groceries if required.
• Completing daily fuel site checks, ensuring the immediate surrounds of the store including the car park are kept tidy.
• Interacting positively with customers at all times.

You must:

• Be physically able to push heavy trolleys for several hours per day, and in all weather conditions (the supermarket is busy regardless of whether it is hot, cold or wet outside!)
• Have a high level of maturity
• Be reliable!
• Have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Have the rights to work in New Zealand
