Job summary

Tranzit Group in New Plymouth seeks an experienced Company Manager to lead our Taranaki business. You will guide a frontline team of 80+ drivers across school, charter, tours, and public transport, backed by local ops, training and safety support.

You will drive safety, service reliability, and commercial performance while building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. This role demands strategic oversight with a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading operational teams in transport or similar complex service.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients and stakeholders.
• Solid financial and commercial acumen with problem-solving.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills.
• Customer-focused, with focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Supportive leadership style with care for frontline teams.
• Clean full licence held for at least two years; Passenger Endorsement possible.
• Experience in transport industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead our Taranaki business with a strong people-first safety culture, ensuring safe, reliable and high-quality day-to-day service delivery.
• Own business performance across safety, people, customer experience, operations, financials, KPIs and P&L.
• Lead local business planning, budgeting and execution of key priorities.
• Build strong client, stakeholder and community relationships.
• Drive commercial and operational performance through planning and continuous improvement.
• Ensure strong governance, compliance, employment relations and health and safety practices.
• Translate CIT objectives and strategic projects into practical local execution.
• Provide visible, practical and supportive leadership to over 80 drivers, local operational support, training and health and safety representatives.
