Job summary

Tauranga City Council is seeking an experienced Transport Engineering Services Team Leader to guide a skilled group of transport professionals and deliver infrastructure outcomes across major projects.

You will set direction, build capability, and partner with Council, consultants and the community to ensure clear, practical engineering advice aligned with city outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical team in transport or infrastructure.
• Ability to set direction and build a high-trust culture.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of transport engineering professionals.
• Set priorities, plan workloads and maintain focus on key priorities.
• Support team growth in confidence, judgement and technical capability.
