Job summary

Transam Logistics, Auckland-based, is seeking a Transport Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations of the transport team, including dispatchers and drivers. You will ensure vehicles are available, serviced, and compliant with COF requirements, while coordinating with workshop and suppliers to keep operations moving.

The role requires about 5 years in transport or logistics, NZ driving licence, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Full NZ driver license required.
• Approximately 5 years' experience in transport/logistics.
• Experience supervising or coordinating an operational team.
• Experience with TMS, Oracle, Container Chain or similar.
• Strong MS Excel skills with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent organisational and communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
• Solutions-focused approach to operational challenges.
• Calm under pressure with professional demeanor.
• High integrity and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the Transport team, including dispatchers and drivers.
• Provide frontline support and guidance to the transport team, helping resolve operational issues as they arise.
• Complete transport invoicing and prepare information for approval.
• Coordinate vehicles and units for servicing, repairs and COF requirements.
• Work closely with the workshop to ensure servicing, repairs and operational requirements are coordinated effectively.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding parts, pricing, availability and scheduling.
• Support workshop administration and helping to maintain accurate systems and records.
• Providing coverage for annual leave and sick leave across the transport function when required.
• Supporting dispatch operations, including occasional Saturday morning coverage.
• Maintaining strong communication between transport, dispatch, drivers, workshop teams and suppliers.
• Assisting with systems administration and ensuring transport information remains accurate and up to date.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and supporting continuous improvement across transport operations.
• Responding professionally and effectively to day-to-day complaints, issues and operational challenges.
