Job summary

Thames--coromandel-District-Council is seeking Refuse Transfer Station Operators to keep transfer stations running smoothly, safely and efficiently while delivering great service. Roles include full-time permanent and part-time fixed-term positions at Matamata, Morrinsville and Waihou, with weekend/public holiday work and rostered shifts.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Driver Licence required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Practical, reliable and safety-focused approach.
• Positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
• Wheels (W) endorsement is preferred; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers with waste and recycling disposal.
• Maintaining site presentation, cleanliness and waste streams.
• Processing customer transactions and operating the weighbridge system.
• Supporting safe traffic flow and site operations.
• Working with contractors, team members and the public.
