Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods in Queenstown, South Island, seeks a Trade Sales Assistant for a full-time role at 42.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri 8:00am–5:00pm) plus every second Saturday 9:00am–12:00pm. Reporting to the Trade Centre Manager, you will work in a fast-paced trade environment helping customers with PPE, hardware, tools and engineering supplies.

This varied role blends customer service, stock handling, store operations and merchandising, offering opportunities to upsell and build lasting

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail, sales and/or trade environment.
• Sales-driven with a desire to exceed targets and deliver results.
• Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills.
• Able to quickly build long-term customer relationships.
• A problem solver who can turn challenges into positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers walking through the door.
• Interact with customers, identifying their needs and presenting solutions across our wide range of products and services.
• Deliver exceptional customer service that drives sales and builds loyalty.
• Ensure customers remain the number one priority in every interaction.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
• Liaise with support teams and suppliers to ensure customer requirements are met accurately and on time.
• Assist with maintaining store presentation, visual merchandising standards and product selection.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure appropriate stock rotation.
• Handle, pack and dispatch inward and outward goods.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory within the Trade Centre.
