Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods Tauranga is seeking a Trade Sales Assistant for a part-time role (23 hours per week), including Saturdays 9:00am–12:00pm. You will help customers find PPE, tools and safety products, while delivering friendly service and supporting stock and store operations.

The role emphasizes customer focus, relationship building and upselling in a fast-paced trade environment. Training is provided to develop product knowledge and selling skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, trade sales or customer service is preferred.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to identify customer needs and provide solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers visiting the Trade Centre.
• Build strong relationships by understanding needs and offering tailored product solutions.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and loyalty.
• Promote and upsell a wide range of products and services.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Support store presentation, merchandising and promotions.
• Replenish stock and maintain inventory.
• Assist with receipting, packing and dispatching goods.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve sales and service goals.
