Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods Tauranga Trade Centre is seeking a Trade Sales Assistant for a part-time position (23 hours per week), including Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm. This is a hands-on role in a busy trade-focused environment with a supportive team.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, build strong relationships, promote and upsell product ranges, and assist with stock, store presentation and transactions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, trade sales, customer service or a similar environment.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Sales-focused with the ability to identify opportunities and provide solutions.
• Experience within the trade, industrial, safety or hardware sectors is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers visiting the Trade Centre.
• Build strong customer relationships by understanding needs and providing tailored product and service solutions.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and customer loyalty.
• Promote and upsell our extensive range of products and services.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Support store presentation, merchandising standards and promotional displays.
• Replenish stock and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Assist with receipting, packing and dispatching incoming and outgoing goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory and contribute to the smooth operation of the Trade Centre.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve sales and service objectives.
