DuluxGroup Ltd. in New Plymouth is hiring a part-time Retail Assistant to help customers with paint products and colour advice. You’ll build relationships, upsell where appropriate, and support in-store merchandising to ensure a welcoming shopper experience.

You’ll be part of a team delivering outstanding service, handling sales transactions and stock management, with a focus on safety and accuracy. Shift pattern is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday coverage.

Competenze

• Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
• Experience in retail or sales is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to provide colour advice and product recommendations.
• Physically able to lift paint products up to 25 kg.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building strong relationships with trade and DIY customers and providing outstanding service every day
• Providing product recommendations, colour advice, and practical solutions to help customers complete their projects
• Supporting store sales growth through customer engagement, upselling opportunities, and promoting our products and services
• Mixing and tinting paint accurately while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Processing sales transactions, invoices, and customer orders with a high level of accuracy
• Assisting with stock management, merchandising, and maintaining an organised and welcoming store environment
• Supporting a culture of safety and ensuring all tasks are completed in line with company procedures

This is a part time role based at our New Plymouth store. It is a fixed 25 hour a week job, Monday - Friday with the occasional Saturday shift on top which is 4 hours, plus extra hours when required to cover leave and instore events.

• Previous experience in retail, customer service, trade, hospitality, or sales is advantageous but not essential
• Physically fit and capable of safely lifting paint products up to 25kg
