Job summary

NZ School of Tourism at the Auckland Airport Campus is seeking a Tourism Tutor to deliver training across our Tourism courses and support students toward qualification. You will use existing curriculum and resources to create a great student experience and help learners advance in their careers.

No prior teaching experience is required as we provide comprehensive training and teaching tools, plus mentoring to help you succeed in your trainer role and contribute to our diverse learner community.

Qualifications

• Proven background in travel/tourism with at least 4 years’ experience.
• At least 2 years in supervisory roles.
• Diploma or degree in Tourism (advantageous).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Teaching experience advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training to akonga across Tourism courses.
• Facilitate learning using curriculum and resources to deliver a great student experience.
• Support students to achieve qualification and progress their career paths.

Tourism Tutor
Location: Auckland Airport
Full time | Fixed-term | NZST Auckland Airport Campus

As a Tourism Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering excellent training to our akonga across our Tourism courses. You will be facilitating learning using existing curriculum and resources to deliver a great student experience and support them achieve their qualification. You will play a key role in helping them progress along their career path as they graduate to becoming the next generation of tourism industry professionals!

You don’t necessarily need any experience in teaching, we will provide you with comprehensive learning, and support teaching tools to become successful in your trainer role.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe | About you

• Proven background in travel/tourism industry - must haveat least 4 years’ tourism experience including at least 2 years at supervisory level.
• Additional experience in tourism or hospitality/retail advantageous but not essential.
• Diploma or degree in Tourism (or other related field) advantageous
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Passionate and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering success
• Teaching experience advantageous but not a requirement
