Rocket Lab invites applications for a Thermofluids Analyst to join our Thermofluids Analysis team, responsible for all internal thermodynamics and fluids mechanics modelling and simulation across our Electron and Neutron vehicles. This role is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 1+ years in Aerospace/Automotive/Marine, and hands-on experience with CFD tools (Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+), Python for engineering analysis, and a

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1+ years industry experience in Aerospace/Automotive/Marine.
  • Physics-first principles approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with CFD packages: Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+.
  • Engineering programming experience in Python (numpy, pandas, scipy, matplotlib).
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Propellant: deliver, manage, and CFD internal fluid systems; tank pressurisation and transients; design and model RCS systems.
  • Thermal: system thermal design across ground, flight, and in-space operations; heat transfer simulations; model HVAC and cavity conditioning.
  • Analysis & Data: collaborate with design/test engineers; interpret ground/flight data; verify margins and resolve sensor issues.
