Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Team Lead for Thermofluids Analysis in Auckland, New Zealand. You will head a multidisciplinary team covering aeroscience, thermal, propellant, and data analysis, driving CFD studies, design trades, and propulsion system insights.

You will mentor direct reports, manage skill gaps, and ensure delivery of key programs while shaping requirements and risk posture across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
• 5+ years industry experience in aerospace, automotive, or marine sectors.
• Experience with CFD packages (Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+).
• Experience with thermal modelling tools (Thermal Desktop, THERMICA, NX SST).
• Proficient in Python and engineering programming libraries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Thermofluids Analysis team across aerodynamics, thermal, propellant, and analyses.
• Mentor engineers, manage resources, and ensure on-time delivery of projects.
• Direct concept trades, assess performance, environments, and design requirements.
• Develop tools and fidelity levels for engineering decision making.
