Job summary

Auckland University Of Technology is seeking a reliable Therapy Aide to support therapists in daily operations and client care. You will help prepare treatment areas, assist with sessions and ensure a safe, professional environment.

Ideal candidates have NZQA Level 4 Health & Well-being, experience as Therapy/Health Care Assistants, and understanding of NZ healthcare in a multicultural setting.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as Therapy Assistant/Health Care Assistant.
• Experience with people with disabilities and seniors.
• Understanding of healthcare in New Zealand.
• Experience in multicultural work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with planned therapy programmes and basic treatments as instructed.
• Provide direct support to clients before, during and after sessions.
• Assist clients with positioning, movement and mobility during treatments.
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, towels, linens and materials for sessions.
• Support therapists with rehabilitation activities within delegated responsibilities.
• Follow the supervising therapist's plans and instructions.
• Observe client responses and report changes promptly.
• Maintain client treatment records as directed.
• Clean, sanitise and prepare equipment and areas per infection-control procedures.
• Provide practical assistance to therapists for safe delivery of services.
