Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Therapy Assistant for a permanent, full-time role at Starship Childrens Hospital. You will support Allied health professionals and ward staff in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach, providing basic and personal cares while helping with daily administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will have Level 3 NZQA, NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing, and experience with disabilities in a healthcare setting, across Starship services in Auckland.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 NZQA qualification.
• Must hold NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing.
• Experience as Therapy Assistant/Health Care Assistant.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Understanding of healthcare in New Zealand.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Allied health professionals and ward staff in client/whānau centred care.
• Provide basic cares and personal cares.
• Contribute to rehabilitation activities.
• Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Maintain a safe, pleasant, functional environment.
